This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We operate a private reference site. We cannot say whether a warrant exists, recall or clear one, accept a payment, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. Every one of those needs the Clay County Sheriff's Office or the issuing court directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Here is where the questions we are asked most often about Clay County actually belong:
- Whether a warrant exists: start with the Sheriff's public warrant page, then confirm with the court named on your paperwork, since the online list is updated at intervals and is not guaranteed complete
- A missed citation or traffic date: Clay County Justice Court at 662-494-6140, or West Point Municipal Court at 662-494-6386 for a citation written inside the city
- A felony capias or Circuit Court bench warrant: Circuit Clerk Kim Brown Hood's office at 662-494-3384, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except legal holidays
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: a licensed Mississippi attorney together with the issuing court, which controls any recall, appearance, or bond
- Custody or bond questions: the Clay County Detention Center at 662-494-2712, remembering that no bond window or surrender schedule is published
- A public records request: the Sheriff's Records Administration, citing the Mississippi Public Records Act and describing the records and date range sought
For warrants held at county level, the primary office is the Clay County Sheriff's Office, 330 West Broad Street, P.O. Box 142, West Point, MS 39773, 662-494-2896. The county directory lists the same office at 348 W Broad Street, so call before traveling. Administrative hours run Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office warns that its email is not monitored around the clock and that plain email is not secure, so keep Social Security, driver license, financial, and medical details out of any message.
